Important to any area is the continued education of it's workforce and populous. Many options are available for those seeking to further their education.
South Georgia Technical College (SGTC), located 40
miles away in Americus, established a
Satellite Center in Cordele several years ago to provide continuing educational
opportunities and an Adult Literacy program in a convenient location for
Crisp County citizens. Presently SGTI is offering full-time programs at
the Cordele Center. This center has met with such success that the 1996
legislative assembly allocated funds to meet the increasing needs of business
and industry through programming developed with the cooperation and input
of local industry. The new facility will be located near Cordele's industrial
park and I-75 where it will be easily accessible to all. Of special interest
is the "Quick Start" program that helps train employees for new or expanding
industry. Both SGTI campuses provide exceptional training and educational
programs.
Education is not a hidden treasure in Crisp County. A quality and valued education in Crisp County remains the single most important resource to the future of a prosperous Crisp County.
